Ski Protest

Mammoth Lakes is known best for skiing and snowboarding. Skiers and riders took their advocacy to the lifts and hit the slopes, hanging a banner from the chairlift and riding down runs with protest signs.

In month year, No Hot Creek Mine organized a Ski Protest in collaboration with Patagonia. 50 skiers and snowboarders gathered on the hill, sporting No Hot Creek Mine shirts and handing out stickers. Together, they rode the chair lift and hung a banner, protesting the proposed mine.

The location of the drill sites is actually visible from the top of Mammoth Mountain Resort. The views we all enjoy overlooking the Long Valley with snow capped peaks in the background, may soon be marred by dust, heavy equipment, and bright lights.
